Choose Eastern Owl for our flexible ordering options, on-time delivery, and low prices. For your convenience, we print labels with transliterated titles on any requested books, as well as provide a printed transliteration card with all bibliographical information inserted in each book – making it easier for you to organize your Russian book collection.

Eastern Owl provides its customers a wide range of all of the most popular books and literature from Russia and Eastern Europe. We are in constant contact with all of the major publishers in the region, and we go above-and-beyond to find rare literature to satisfy each individual customer’s needs.
With over 300,000 book titles, thousands of periodicals and other materials available, you are sure to find what you’re looking for.
We can obtain virtually any book published in Russia, including out-of-print books. If you don’t see a book you are searching for listed on our site, feel free to contact us and our team of experts will respond promptly to assist your search.
If we don’t have a title already, we will gladly search for and try to acquire any title you desire for your collection.
Approval Plans
Setting up an approval plan is hands down the best way to receive the literature you want, with the least hassle and best prices.
Eastern Owl currently offers three different types of approval plans:
- Approval Plan:
Based on your specifications, your library will receive titles at intervals determined by you and within the budget you set. - Slip Notification Orders:
You choose from a list of titles selected by our specialists that you want and order on an as-needed basis. - Combination:
A combination of the above plans. You can set certain subjects and/or formats to autoship, and for others, receive a list of recommendations – whatever works best for you.
Prior to being shipped, all approval plan orders are reviewed by approval plan specialists with knowledge of a customer’s individual profile to ensure every book matches the exact specifications.
In any plan, we can exclude lists of series you don’t want us to send, either because you’ve received them already, or because the entire series is not suitable for your collection.
Regardless of the plan you choose, Eastern Owl’s approval plans will ensure that you get all of the great literature you need while staying within budget.

Approval Plan Enhancements
Thanks to our partnership with SetBook, we have extensive statistics on the most and least ordered titles in Russia, to help with your book selection. We also receive information on new releases earlier than other suppliers, and our weekly newsletter lists new titles.
Bibliographic Information
Eastern Owl includes bibliographic information with all of the titles it ships to you. Inside your selected title, you will find a book slip with information on title, author, ISBN, and publisher.
Formats
Eastern Owl offers a wide assortment of formats to complement the books in your approval plan. Available formats include:

- Microforms
- Brochures, posters and other ephemeral works
Firm Orders
If your library needs additional material to supplement your approval plan, firm orders are available. Shop on our website or contact us at Order@EasternOwl.com to help with your search.
Delivery
For approval plans, we ship via the US Postal Service, and titles will typically reach you in 10 to 14 business days.
You will receive your books in the original condition, because we take great care in shipping our packages.
Setting and Revising Your Budget
Eastern Owl lets you raise or lower your approval plan price limits in accordance with your budgetary needs. However, due to the time it takes to ship internationally, please notify us as soon as possible.
Periodical Subscriptions
A subscription to any of the thousands of periodicals we offer is available to you. Search through our catalog for any periodicals of interest. It is easy to narrow down your selections by country, subject, date, and title.
We are happy to search for a periodical if it’s not listed, and we can find the rarest titles for you. We also can provide back issues whenever they are available. Please email Periodicals@EasternOwl.com with any requests.
Please note that shipping costs for periodicals are included in the subscription price as indicated on the website.
